OSID Flavors
Summary
A way of categorizing the OSIDs.
Typical OSIDs
The typical OSID includes the management of entities as defined by its model. The entities can be fetched, queried, managed, and organized in OsidCatalogs. References to other entities within the model include both the foreign Id and the entity interface.
Auxiliary OSIDs
Auxiliary OSIDs reference an Id but do not say to which entity it belongs. Auxiliary OSIDs are designed to be orchestrated with other OSIDs where the Id can be any OsidObject. Examples are the Contact, Relationship, and Sequence OSIDs.
Utility OSIDs
Utility OSIDs do not manage entities but offer some service useful for decomposing OSID Providers. Examples are the Locale, Id, Transport, and Type OSIDs.
